MUMBAI – Prices of mustard seed and soybean were largely unchanged in their respective spot markets today, as arrivals were sufficient to meet domestic demand, traders said.
* In the benchmark market of Jaipur, Rajasthan, MUSTARD SEED was sold for 7,200 rupees per 100 kg. Arrivals were pegged steady at 350,000 bags (1 bag = 84 kg), both unchanged from Wednesday.
* The outlook for mustard seed remains firm. India estimates record mustard seed production in 2021-22, but farmers are refraining from bringing their produce to the market in large quantities as they await a rise in prices, a trader with Manishankar Oils said.
* Prices of SOYBEAN remained mostly steady in Indore today. The oilseed was sold for 6,600-6,800 rupees per 100 kg, unchanged from Tuesday, said N.K. Aggarwal, a local trader.
* Arrivals were pegged steady at 1,000 bags (1 bag = 100 kg). The market remained shut on Wednesday due to a local festival. End
