NEW DELHI – The prices of maize in Bihar's Purnea market were steady today, while prices in Karnataka's Davanagere market rose marginally. Prices for wheat were unavailable as the markets in Indore, Madhya Pradesh and Kota, Rajasthan were shut on account of Diwali, traders said.
* MAIZE prices were marginally up in Karnataka's Davanagere market due to improved demand from bulk buyers on account of festivals, said Shiv Kumar, a local trader. Arrivals were unchanged from Tuesday at 15,000 bags (1 bag = 65 kg).
* In Purnea, Bihar, maize prices were unchanged due to thin trade on account of festivals. Arrivals were also steady at 15,000 bags (1 bag = 65 kg), said local trader Ghanshyam Yadav.
* Prices of BASMATI 1121 PADDY and BAJRA were largely unchanged across markets.
