MUMBAI – Prices of wheat and maize were steady across key wholesale markets in the country today, traders said.

WHEAT prices in Kota, the benchmark market, were steady today because a fall in arrivals was offset by a lack of demand from bulk buyers. Arrivals were pegged at 3,000 bags (1 bag = 100 kg), compared with 3,500 bags on Wednesday, said Aniket Mehta, a Kota-based trader.

* Prices of wheat in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, were also steady today. Arrivals were unchanged at 4,000 bags (1 bag = 100 kg), said Jitendra Panwar, an Indore-based trader.

MAIZE prices in Purnea, Bihar, and Davanagere, Karnataka, were unchanged due to parity in demand and supply, said traders.

* Prices of BASMATI 1121 PADDY and BAJRA were largely unchanged across markets.
