--MCX resumes trading at 1017 IST

NEW DELHI - Trading on the Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd. resumed at 1017 IST on Wednesday after being halted for over an hour. The exchange had initially expected trading to restart by 0945 IST but later updated the timeline to 1010 IST.

The exact cause of the disruption was not disclosed by the exchange. Trading activity had appeared to freeze around 0905 IST, prompting traders and investors to take to social media to report the issue. Market participants also took to social media website 'X' to complain about the outage seeking responsibility to be fixed for such incidents.

Meanwhile, traders missed a crucial window to capitalise on gains in silver as prices of the white metal surged to new record highs right before trading halted. The MCX December silver contract hit an all-time high of INR 118,010 per kg, while the September contract touched INR 116,275 per kg. End
