Fondly called ‘Doc Saab’, Abhijit brings over 40 years of experience in journalism and has worked with many media platforms, handling different beats. Currently in charge of CommodityWire, which he started in 2004 during the organisation’s CRISIL MarketWire avatar, Abhijit is a PhD in Economics from Mumbai University and a gold medallist in journalism from Bombay School of Journalism. He likes to read and listens to any idea that challenges his understanding of the universe.


Assistant Vice-President, Strategy

Anant is a member of the strategy team since its inception a decade ago. As a mainstream journalist, he has earlier worked in various news channels and newspapers. Anant has a keen interest in wildlife, organic farming, travelling and reading.

Ashish started his professional journey with an equity research firm before moving to editing business news reports across platforms. He has been with this organisation for about 17 years. Ashish’s Commerce background has helped him better understand the broad spectrum of stories that the financial wire covers. Based in Mumbai, Ashish enjoys cooking and relishes fine single malts and a variety of cheeses, and loves to watch Star Wars movies over and over again.

He has a Master’s degree in Literature from Delhi University, and his favourite reads include works of Dostoevsky and some early 20th century writers and philosophers. Avishek hails from Shillong, counts football and classic rock among his passions, and would gladly part with a limb for a chance to see the Grateful Dead in action. Married to a creative media professional, Avishek has had a long stint in Delhi but is now based in Mumbai.

Nashit Sekhani is the go-to person for solutions to any tech glitches at any hour, and he brings with him a wealth of expertise on the domain from the CRISIL MarketWire days. Nashit spearheads the strong technology team, and has a degree in computer applications and certification in Microsoft Technologies. Beyond work, Nashit is an avid movie enthusiast, a foodie, and a passionate cricket fan.

A chartered accountant with a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Neeta has over 30 years of work experience in various industries and sectors, and has been a part of Informist in every stage of its journey. Though her core competency is Finance, she also handles Human Resources and Administration at Informist. Her belief in and commitment to the organisation’s goals has her involved in various strategic and critical projects. Neeta is a proud mum of two daughters, who keep her youthful. An avid reader and strong believer of giving back to the society, she volunteers in many social activities.

Nilesh is part of the technology team, where he specialises in product development. He has been a part of the company in its various avatars for almost a decade-and-a-half. Born and raised in Mumbai, Nilesh is an avid photographer and a travel enthusiast, who loves to frequent wildlife sanctuaries across the country.

Pankaj Aher

Pankaj is a journalist-turned-entrepreneur who is now again a full-time, hands-on journalist; a big change from being nominally in charge for a few years while focussing on building NewsWire18 and Cogencis as the CEO. A news junkie, he is curious about everything. Pankaj loves reading, travel, meeting people, farming, though not necessarily in that order. Had he not been a journalist, Pankaj would have been a teacher, a lawyer, or an advertising professional. Pankaj has a Master’s in Political Science from the Bombay University.

Pratigya, the “original bond girl” of Informist heads MoneyWire, driving coverage of the bond market, macroeconomy, RBI, and the finance ministry. She pivoted towards journalism after finishing her MBA in Finance. Currently a CFA Level 3 candidate. Pratigya has continued pursuing academics while mentoring a large team. Born and brought up in Mumbai, she is one of those rare Mumbaikars with a soft spot for Delhi. When she is not busy sniffing out market intelligence, Pratigya spends her time playing the piano and mothering her little bundle of joy. An avid reader, she hopes to author a book or two in the future.

Ranjana brings about 25 years of experience in copy editing across platforms - from newspapers and magazines to books and journals, and a financial news wire. She hails from steel city Jamshedpur and has a Master’s degree in History from Delhi University. In this organisation, she started her journey as a copy editor nearly two decades ago. She leads the team of copy editors, is a stickler for sharp writing, loves the fast-paced newsroom environment, and particularly enjoys working on stories related to the macroeconomy and commodities. She is a compulsive travel-planner, and believes each itinerary must end with a plan for the next one – whether it comes alive or not is another question. Brisk walks and music energise Ranjana, and her dream is to run a half-marathon with her family one day.

A Company Secretary from The Institute of Company Secretaries of India and a Bachelor of Law from the Pune University, Rashmi is a staunch advocate of the idea that legal framework can be a powerful tool to facilitate and enhance business solutions. She has over 11 years of experience in compliance, contract management and corporate governance. She has been with the organisation since 2016. While career is an integral part of her life, her role as a mother to two little daughters is her greatest joy and strength.


Chief of Bureau - Money Markets

Richard brings around 15 years of experience in reporting on the financial markets and data analysis. Having started out as a data analyst, he is now the go-to guy for coverage of the money markets, the RBI, and rating actions. Richard has a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Mumbai University and he proudly says he’s lucky to travel to his native place Vasai every day. He stays with parents and is married to his college friend. The father of two daughters is a full-time chef on weekends, and is always up for travel to the mountains or coasts.


Chief of Bureau

Sagar has been in the news industry for over 13 years, of which he has spent over a decade with this organisation. An MBA in Finance from ICFAI University, Sagar is responsible for the news coverage from the finance ministry. He leads a young team of motivated reporters, who cover policy developments. His hobbies include aquascaping aquariums and landscape photography. In his free time, Sagar listens to instrumental music; his favourites being compositions of Yanni and Zimmer. He cycles long distances and tries his hand at different sports like tennis and football.
