The ideal candidate for most positions above will have 3-5 years’ experience in mainstream financial or business reporting. Experience in reporting on the beats/areas for which we need reporters will be an added advantage. We are of course happy to consider applications from more experienced candidates.

Candidates who haven’t yet spent three years in the industry can also apply and these will be considered on merit. If these candidates are not selected for this batch, they will be considered for our next batch of annual recruitment, which is a mix of experienced reporters and fresh graduates or post-graduates. Our annual new batch usually joins us in June or July, depending on when the journalism schools complete their courses.

For reporters in Bengaluru, Chennai, and Pune, the ideal candidate will have at least five years’ experience in business reporting in these cities. A higher experience, particularly in reporting in these cities, will be an added advantage for these positions.
