NEW DELHI – Tata Motors Ltd. Thursday said it has sold over 600,000 units of its sport utility vehicle Punch since launch. The car was launched in October 2021 and was the top-selling model in 2024.

"Punch is not just a car — it's a breakthrough brand that has sparked a cultural shift and redefined what India expects from the first car in their family," Vivek Srivatsa, chief commercial officer of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. said in a press release.

The fuel-run and electric variant of the Punch have a five-star rating according to Global NCAP and Bharat NCAP ratings. NCAP stands for New Car Assessment Program. The car is available in petrol, compressed natural gas, and electric powertrain options.

It currently accounts for around 36% of Tata Motors' overall passenger vehicle sales. In 2024-25 (Apr-Mar), the model had a 38% market share in the sub-compact sport utility vehicle segment. The on-road price of the Tata Punch ranges from INR 688,000 to INR 1.20 million, according to Carwale.com.

For the March quarter, Tata Motors reported a consolidated net profit of INR 84.70 billion on revenue of INR 1.195 trillion. On the National Stock Exchange, shares of the company closed 0.4% higher at INR 681.70. End
