GST Council mandates tribunal body to judge anti-profiteering cases

The GST Council today mandated that the principal bench of the GST Appellate Tribunal will adjudicate all the anti-profiteering cases related to goods and services tax. Till now, the Competition Commission of India was dealing with such cases. The decision was reached at the 53rd GST Council meeting held here today. "Council has also recommended the sunset date of Apr 1, 2025 for receipt of any new application regarding anti-profiteering," the finance ministry said in a press release.
