MUMBAI – Presiding officer P.S. Dinesh Kumar and technical member Dheeraj Bhatnagar today took oath as members of the Securities Appellate Tribunal. Kumar is a retired chief justice of the Karnataka High Court, while Bhatnagar is a retired principal chief commissioner of income tax.

Technical member Meera Swarup is the third member of the appellate tribunal. The three-member bench heard around 13 appeal cases scheduled for today. The two new members were appointed for four years each on Apr 4.

Swarup has been the only functioning member of the tribunal for around five months. The previous presiding officer Tarun Agarwala's term ended in December.  End
