NEW DELHI – Prices of mustard rose marginally in the benchmark market of Jaipur, Rajasthan, today due to firm demand from domestic stockists and millers even as arrivals were pegged higher, traders said. On the other hand, prices of soybean in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, were steady today.

* In Jaipur, MUSTARD was sold for 7,175 rupees per 100 kg today, up 25 rupees from Saturday. Arrivals were pegged at 525,000 bags (1 bag = 84 kg) as against 425,000 bags the previous day.

* India expects record mustard seed production in 2021-22 (Jul-Jun), but farmers are refraining from bringing their produce in large quantities to the market, as they are waiting for the prices to rise further, said a trader with Manishankar Oils.

SOYBEAN arrivals in Indore were steady at 500-600 bags (1 bag = 100 kg), said local trader N.K. Aggarwal. Prices of the oilseed remained unchanged at 7,000-7,200 rupees per 100 kg.

* By and large, farmers are bringing lower produce to the market as the end of the season approaches, he added.  End
