MUMBAI – Housing Development Finance Corp Ltd has paid an 7.25 bln rupees in advance tax for the quarter ending Mar 31, up from 6.50 bln rupees in the corresponding quarter a year ago, a source told Informist.
HDFC had paid 5.70 bln rupees, 12.00 bln rupees, and 11.50 bln rupees advance tax in Apr-Jun, Jul-Sep and Oct-Dec, respectively.
Analysts and investors closely track advance tax numbers of companies as these are seen as a lead indicator for earnings and profits in a quarter.
On the National Stock Exchange, shares of HDFC closed 0.4% lower today at 2,559.90 rupees. End
