Under the influence of several weather systems and confluence of moist winds from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal, a wet spell, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and winds with speeds of 40-50 km per hour, is likely over south peninsular India till Saturday, according to the India Meteorological Department. Similar weather conditions are expected over central India, Maharashtra, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Odisha on Thursday, it said.
