Coffee Board pegs India's coffee output at 403,000 tn in 2025-26, up 11% YoY

MUMBAI – The Coffee Board of India in its post-blossom estimates has forecast the country's total coffee production at 403,000 tonnes in 2025-26 (Oct-Sept). The output, as per the initial projections, are likely to be higher by 11% from the final crop estimates of 363,500 tonnes in 2024-25, it said.
Output of the arabica variety is expected to rise nearly 12% on year to 118,125 tonnes from 105,700 tonnes last year, the coffee board said. The robusta variety's output is also expected to rise to 284,875 tonnes, up nearly 11% from 257,800 tonnes last year.
In Karnataka, which is the largest producer of coffee in India and accounts for about 70% of the country's total coffee output, is expected to produce 280,275 tonnes in 2025-26, up over 9% from last year, it said. The production for the robusta variety in Karnataka is likely to go up almost 8% on year at 195,350 tonnes. The arabica variety's output in the state is estimated at 84,925 tonnes, up nearly 13% from the final estimates for last year. All the major coffee producing districts of Karnataka have estimated an on-year rise in production, as per the organisation's data.
Coffee output in Kerala is seen at 85,150 tonnes, up 17% from last year's final estimates. As per the coffee board's data, the state's robusta variety production is expected to rise by 12,050 tonnes to 83,000 tonnes. The arabica variety is also expected to see a marginal rise to 2,150 tonnes from 2,000 tonnes last year, according to data released by the coffee board.
The post-blossom estimate for Tamil Nadu stands at 20,315 tonnes, up over 5% from last year's final estimates. The total estimated output in traditional coffee-producing regions is expected to rise over 11% to 385,740 tonnes in 2025-26, the data showed. For non-traditional areas, the total output is seen rising 13% on year to 17,050 tonnes. In Andhra Pradesh, the output is estimated at 16,550 tonnes, up from 14,640 tonnes last year. A marginal rise of coffee output in the north-eastern regions is also expected, as per the coffee board's projections. End
