TML Commercial Vehicle ceases to be Tata Motors' subsidiary, to list soon

MUMBAI – TML Commercial Vehicle Ltd. Wednesday issued 3.68 billion shares to shareholders post its demerger from Tata Motors Ltd., according to an exchange filing. With this, TML Commercial Vehicle ceases to be a subsidiary of Tata Motors, which will now house only the passenger vehicle business. 

 

TML Commercial Vehicle Ltd. plans to obtain the required permission from BSE and the National Stock Exchange to list seperately soon. As per the company's plans, the commercial vehicle company will be renamed Tata Motors. The passenger vehicle entity's name has already been changed to Tata Motors Passenger Vehicle in government records, but this is yet to updated with stock exchanges. The passenger vehicle entity continues to trade on exchanges as Tata Motors for now.

 

For the June quarter, Tata Motors had reported a consolidated net profit of INR 39.24 billion on consolidated revenue of INR 1.04 trillion. On Wednesday, its stock, which now trades without the value of the commercial vehicle business, closed at INR 390.85 per share on the NSE, down just over 1%.  End
