ONGC reports gas leak at well in Mori field in Andhra, says no casualties

--ONGC: Gas leak at Mori field in Andhra, no injury, loss of life 

 

NEW DELHI – Oil and Natural Gas Corp. Ltd. Monday reported a gas leak incident at a well at its Mori field in Andhra Pradesh. The well, located in a remote area, is operated by production contractor Deep Industries Ltd. No injuries or fatalities have been reported, the company said in an exchange filing.

 

"The area has been cordoned off, cooling operations commenced, and ONGC has mobilised the crisis management teams. Preparatory work is in progress to facilitate well-control and, if required, capping of the well," the company said.

 

ONGC had reported a net profit of INR 98.48 billion in the September quarter on revenues of INR 330.31 billion. Monday, the company's shares closed 1.4% lower at INR 238.09 on the National Stock Exchange.   End
