NEW DELHI/KOLKATA/HYDERABAD – Global Health Ltd.'s Medanta Noida hospital's earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation are expected to turn positive ahead of the company's earlier target as patient volumes continue to ramp up, the hospital chain's management said in a post-earnings conference call on Friday.

The management said occupancy at the Noida hospital is currently around 30-40%, though the metric is less relevant as the company continues to commission additional beds. It added that patient volumes at the facility remain robust and all major specialities, barring liver transplants, are operational, with most high-end equipment already installed.

The company said average revenue per occupied bed rose 5.5% on year to INR 70,224 in the June quarter, while average revenue per patient remained largely stable at INR 201,891.

The company's consolidated net profit was flat on year at INR 1.59 billion in the June quarter. The company's revenue from operations rose 27% on year to INR 13.04 billion in the June quarter.  More

Management expects volume growth of more than 20% to continue at the Lucknow and Patna hospitals, supported by strong healthcare demand in eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. The Gurgaon hospital is also expected to sustain 7-10% volume growth despite its mature operations, while Noida continues to witness robust growth at 7-8% with patient additions.

The company reiterated its focus on expanding clinical capabilities across existing hospitals. It plans to add capacity in Indore, expand oncology services in Ranchi, increase procedural capacity at Lucknow and Patna hospitals, and nearly double the number of operating rooms at its upcoming Guwahati facility. "When it comes to our existing health hospitals, that is Gurgaon, Lucknow, Patna, Ranchi, and Indore, at all these facilities we continue to focus on driving very strong clinical quality. We have been relentless over the course of the last few years in adding in additional clinical capabilities as and where they are needed across the network, and that includes both adding in new departments and new facilities," management said.

Global Health spent INR 1.6 billion on capital expenditure in the June quarter and has earmarked around INR 48.5 billion for expansion projects over the next five years. The company plans to steadily expand its retail pharmacy network in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar to strengthen its healthcare ecosystem.

Friday, the company's shares ended at INR 1,405.60 on the National Stock Exchange, down 0.8% from the previous close. Global Health detailed its earnings after market hours on Thursday. End
