IMD issues orange alert for east India on Mon on rainfall, thunderstorms

The India Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for Monday, warning of a wet spell accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds with speeds of 40–50 kilometre per hour, gusting up to 60 km per hour, across east India, east Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh. An orange alert indicates rainfall between 115.6 millimetre and 204.4 mm within 24 hours. The weather bureau said that these weather conditions are expected to persist till Friday.
