RBI's house price index rises 3.6% on YoY in Apr-Jun against 7.6% year ago

NEW DELHI – The Reserve Bank of India's house price index rose 3.6% on year in the June quarter compared with a 7.6% increase in the same quarter a year ago, the central bank said Thursday. On a sequential basis, the index increased 2.0% in the June quarter. 

 

The RBI Thursday released the quarterly house price index with a new base year of 2022-23 (Apr-Mar). The index now covers 18 major cities, after the RBI added Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram, Pune, Ghaziabad, Thane, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Chandigarh, and Nagpur in the new series. 

 

The value of house price index registered a marginal increase in Apr-Jun, with Nagpur, Chandigarh, Chennai and Kochi registering maximum increase over the last quarter, the RBI said.  End
