NEW DELHI – The Bengaluru bench of the National Company Law Tribunal has stayed the insolvency proceedings of BYJU's parent company Think & Learn Pvt. Ltd. till Aug. 31, the next date of hearing, on a plea by its suspended directors Byju Raveendran and Riju Raveendran. The tribunal asked the resolution professional of Think & Learn not to proceed with the issuance of Form G — the invitation for expressions of interest from prospective buyers — or to finalise the list of prospective resolution applicants until further orders.

The petitioners had challenged the admission of INR 114.33 billion claim submitted by a trustee representing the company's US term loan lenders. The founders argued that allowing the claim to stand without scrutiny could significantly influence the corporate insolvency resolution process and affect the outcome of any bidding.

In 2024, the Bengaluru bench of the National Company Law Tribunal had admitted a petition by the Board of Control for Cricket in India to start insolvency proceedings against Think & Learn. The Supreme Court in 2025 had dismissed a petition by the Board of Control for Cricket in India, which was seeking to withdraw its insolvency case against Think & Learn. The apex court had also dismissed a plea by BYJU's co-founder Riju Raveendran, who had supported the cricketing board and sought approval for the settlement. Thereafter, the case has witnessed layers of litigation from the Bengaluru tribunal to National Company Law Appellate Tribunal and Supreme Court with disputes between the creditors and suspended directors.  End
