NEW DELHI – Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd. will open its Gurugram hospital by the first week of November, Managing Director Suneeta Reddy said on Tuesday on the sidelines of an event in Delhi. The soft launch is slightly later than the company's earlier guidance for a soft launch in September and opening in October. Initially, around 200 beds at the facility are expected to be operational by the end of November, a senior company official said, requesting anonymity.
Apollo's Gurugram hospital has a planned capacity of 469 beds, including 380 census beds, with a project cost of INR 12.95 billion, according to the company's June quarter investor presentation. The facility is being developed by Apollo Hospitals North Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Apollo Hospitals Enterprise. The latest capacity is lower than the 480 total beds and 400 census beds planned for the facility, according to its December investor presentation, while the project cost has increased from the INR 12.10 billion envisaged.
For the June quarter, Apollo Hospitals reported a consolidated net profit of INR 5.81 billion, while revenue from operations stood at INR 70.44 billion. In terms of revenue contribution, the company's Group Chief Financial Officer A. Krishnan had said the inpatient business would take a couple of months to be ramped up fully, with a more meaningful revenue contribution expected in the March quarter.
The Gurugram hospital traces its origin to Apollo's acquisition of a hospital asset from Nayati Healthcare and Research in August 2022 for around INR 4.50 billion. Apollo had then said the hospital, located on hospital-zoned land, had potential for 650 beds and marked its entry into Haryana.
Shares of Apollo Hospitals ended 0.9% lower at INR 8,835.50 on the National Stock Exchange on Tuesday. End
