NEW DELHI – The Cockroach Janta Party will hold a protest at Jantar Mantar against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar Saturday. A senior member has reportedly informed the Delhi Police regarding the upcoming protest. Along with the Cockroach Janta Party, the All India Students' Association has also called for a protest at the site.

The protests follow an investigative report by The Indian Express newspaper, which reported that several decisions on the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls across the country were taken without the knowledge of two of the three election commissioners – Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi – who formally recorded their objections at least 14 times over the past 10 months. The Cockroach Janta Party and several mainstream opposition parties have called for Kumar's resignation.

Protests have intensified since last week following allegations by three female reporters of sexual harassment by Delhi Police personnel, including Assistant Commissioner of Police Vivek Bhagat, according to media reports. Authorities have imposed a prohibitory order under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita in central Delhi.  End
